Welcome & Structure
In 1658 at Lloyd's Coffeeshop in London, sailors, merchants, and shipowners met up and began sharing risk organically. They shared ideas, knowledge, and financial resources that gave them a competitive advantage in a treacherous industry. Somewhere in between then and now, insurance lost that close relationship within a skilled community.
Within our community based insurance model, we are bringing back the coffeeshop, virtually!
Community Structure
MEMBER
A leader and entrepreneur who, with the assistance of a broker, joins a pod (or creates a new one) with industry peers that have agreed to share risk.
POD
A small group of like-minded entrepreneurs, often in a similar industry. Individuals have equal influence within their pod, and agree to share risk and responsibility. They should include no more than 25 members each to ensure collaboration and influence within the group.
Each pod is reponsbile for decisions around risk management, claims, and new member approval. See How to Get Involved for more information.
CELL
Depending on size, pods can stand alone or share another layer of risk within a grouping of pods called a cell. The cell, inner pods, and any additional groupings make up the Community Layer.
Each pod is represented by up to two members who sit on the Board of Directors.
Vendors and Partners
Our captive community requires a lot of smart people working collaborative to run smoothly. CP manages the vendors of the community like actuarial, legal, broker, and claims services.
Member Expectations
Participation, engagement and performance are the synergistic keys within the community, and ultimately create a higher return for all. The flow of transparency and decision making starts at the member level.
Your community expects members to be reasonably engaged to reduce risk and contribute to improvment of your peers risk future. This includes participating in member discussions during your quarterly Academy meetings and on the Community Platform. Meetings are designed to be a supportive space where members can share experiences within a culture of trust.
The Trust Towel

To build trust and maintain respect, we operate within a code of conduct within our captive community. We call this the 'Trust Towel'.
